Encore Fellows Program

Encore Fellows bring a wealth of professional — often corporate — expertise to help advance a nonprofit’s mission through a high-impact Fellowships of 1000 hours. Fellows provide fresh perspective to help an organization reach a new level of performance. They typically serve an organization 20 hours per week for 12 months, bringing expertise in one or more areas, such as:

• Management

• Human resources

• Finance

• Strategic planning

• Project and program management

• Information technology

• Marketing

We handle the matching process, which includes rigorous screening, and provide coaching and resources — helping host organizations establish mentorship and intergenerational collaboration between the Fellows and other staff.

The financial cost of sponsored Encore Fellows is fully covered. Alternatively, the $30,000 total cost can be self-funded by organizations via grants/donations (see Sponsor an Encore Fellow).

Are you a nonprofit that can self-fund an Encore Fellow via grants or donations? If so, we can help you find an open market Encore Fellows who will apply their professional experience to 1000 hours of work for your organization, typically part-time for one year. Host organizations cover the $25,000 stipend for the Fellow and $5,000 program fee, and we help craft the position description.
